I was surprised at how few people were my age (48) or younger. I think it's partly that opera companies know they'll sell out a Ring cycle no matter the ticket price, and they use it to subsidize other performances, which means they can charge what they want; the most expensive tickets were $200 per show, and the cheap seats were $60.
