Further adventures with Bata

As a midwesterner experiencing her first Seattle "winter," she found the local newscast tonight roll on the floor (practically) hilarious. Especially the part where they cut to a remote broadcaster who said "We're seeing an actual light dusting of snow, it's accumulating on car roofs here in Tacoma."

Snowpocalypse 2005! We're all gonna die! Yippee!

Having lived in Chicago, I have to laugh at myself even...when I heard there might be 2 inches of snow on the ground this morning, I called my carpool buddy and planned on picking her up 15 minutes earlier!

And at the other end of the spectrum, a couple years ago when I was in Chicago for Christmas, there was a light dusting of snow, and I had a half minute of panic that nobody would be able to make it to my sister's. Then I remembered: Oh yes, it's flat. And, Chicagoans wouldn't even notice the amount of snow on the ground.

No snow at all in Wallingford, was there any by you?

Nah...none in Rainier Valley. A spotted some in the hills of Bellevue though.
