Two More from Rosario Beach

Coral Leaf Algae (Bossiella spp.) and Shield Limpet (Lottia Pelta)

Shaggy Mouse nudibranch egg cases

(the squiggly white things to the right of the image)

It was Julie who spotted the egg cases. The volunteers were quite pleased to see them, as it meant the tide pools were recovering.

I like that first one, it has a very comforting (comfortable?) quality to it. Mostly I'm seeing it as flat areas of colour, not an image of a 3D object.

The tide pools? This particular set is in a popular state park, and was pretty much, as they describe it, "loved to death." They've been more carefully maintained the last few (or several) years, basically keeping them from getting too trodden, and letting nature take its course.
