Testing testing 1, 2, 3!

The installs are proceeding apace. Yay! Including Semagic! I'm almost done with the installs -- then starts the dreaded DATA TRANSFER aug.

Does anyone know how to get bookmarks from one installation of Firefox to another? I had a ton of bookmarks on my laptop and want to get them off.

At least in both versions of Firefox I've used, there is in the Bookmarks pulldown a "Manage Bookmarks" command, which in turn fires up a window whose File pulldown has import/export commands. Export your old bookmarks to an HTML file, copy it over, import it again.

I've done this; what I can't do is persuade the bookmarks manager to rearrange the bookmarks order the way I want. It says you can drag them from place to place, but they wind up moving the wrong way.

You're right on the export/import feature, at least the last several releases have had it.

I rearrange bookmarks all the time by moving them in the manager, just dragging them around. Win98 & XP.

Thanks! I'll give it a whirl. Looks like it works, according to Scott's comment above.
