July: Deception Island in Fog

Rosario Head, WA

August: Immature Heron Feeding

Foster Island, Seattle

September: Rock, Grass, Driftwood

Dungeness Spit, WA
(September was really hard for me to decide.)

October: Bike with Mike

(a different size because it was originally posted to Flickr.)

November: Tree from Japanese Garden

Japanese Garden, Washington Arboretum, Seattle

December: Frost Rimed Leaves

(originally posted to Flickr).

Also, I reserve the right to change my mind about December's favorite, considering we're less than a third into the month.

The amusing thing about August's picture is that although it looks peaceful, we were directly underneath (as in, I had to bend down the bridge was so low at that point) one of the busiest state roads in Washington, and it was approaching rush hour. But the bird didn't care, it just kept sitting there, and every five minutes or so bending down, stabbing the water, and getting another fish.

I have no idea about your musical taste, but I couldn't help but think of Laura Barrett (http://www.myspace.com/laurabarrett)'s "Deception Island Optimists Club", which you can hear at that link.

The October photo is good to see, particularly placed on Flickr: it's not like there are no men worth photographing, but the are horrendously under-represented as subjects there. You've provided an image here with a real sense of a person showing through it.

Mike O'Brien was a city council candidate. I'm glad you like the picture, I think his personality shows through as well.
