Two minutes later, we had to run for the hotel.

Lovely picture! We were very lucky; we arrived in Madison about 5pm, walked to the hotel, unpacked and went out to eat at the Japanese place on State Street. The sky in the distance was looking very black and a few minutes after we sat down the sky went dark and the rain fell in torrents.

By the time we finished eating the sun was out again!

Yes, for how severe it was, it didn't last very long. Shortly after we got into our room, we couldn't see across the small parking lot to the street. Then it cleared up.

Boy: looks like one of those CGI'd storms from Poltergeist...

Well, there was some phiddling. But as Julie said, to make it closer to what we saw as opposed to what the camera captured.

Also, this is not a terribly unusual storm front for the Midwest. Woof!

Just remember: humidity and mosquitoes. Humidity and mosquitoes.

But I do miss thunderstorms and lightning bugs. I keep talking about wanting to bring a jar or two of lightning bugs back from the midwest and letting them go, but everyone says it would be a bad idea. I don't know. I mean, look how a good a job kudzu does preventing soil erosion. That seems to have worked out, right?
