Pentax 6x7 camera, Ilford Pan F film. Photoshop processing includes midtone correction, a vignette layer and a duotone layer. Forgetting to focus the camera was all my own. ;>

Okay, that has the uncanny feel of being an actual old photo. Is that filmstock some classic kind that's been around for a century? The image doesn't look out of focus to me, but maybe to whatever extent it is slightly out of focus helps the effect.

I think Ilfor Pan F has been around for a while, but I don't know how long.

The subject matter and being slightly out of focus were what made me think it looked old fashioned. The vignetting and duotone layers add to the old fashionedness, too.

Thanks!

By the way, what is vignetting?

"Vignetting" is the darkened corners that you get sometimes in pictures. It can have a variety of causes. It's more apparent in this picture than the one above:

(That's one you didn't need to leave Chicago to get!)

I know. I find it amusing that I like industrial sites so much, and think of them as hard to find in Seattle. Then I keep telling myself I just haven't been to the right neighborhoods.

Remember when I lived in Bucktown? (30 years ago now, sheesh.) The part of the Chicago River that ran to the east of it I'd consider a photographic paradise now. Except by now it's probably been cleaned up and is less industrial.
