I was finally able to bring myself to work on the Madison St. pictures from a couple weeks ago. At least I'll be able to go back this weekend and try again.

Madison

Third Ave. downtown has the cross street names embedded in the sidewalk in brass letters. This would be the title page to this project.

The 1st one is great. I've always loved those letters embedded in the sidewalk. The manhole covers with the map of downtown are also cool.

I really like how in the 3rd one the raindrops on the lens (or am i imagining things?) sort of frame the picture.

You're not imagining things, there were raindrops on the lens. Thanks! I was pretty soaked by that time.

I'm intrigued. Where was the fourth one taken?

I think it was called George's, a small Polish deli/specialty store on Madison, between I5 and First Hill, on the south side of the street.

So far, so good. I'm not sure the second one works completely as an image that focuses your attention, but I like how the wires create a web effect and how the wires and the cranes create an abstract (or perhaps inhuman) sense of tension, power, growth, and change. Maybe it's the lack of a center that contributes to both effects.
