While I was waiting for the group I was supposed to photograph yesterday, I ran into this group.

Commander Claus readies his torture reindeer for shopping in downtown Seattle.

Looking forward to the waterboard sale at Macy's.

A reflective moment in the holiday bustle.

Commander Claus always has time to visit with a friend.

Everyone's happy to see Commander Claus.

Interesting. Sometimes we need these reminders.

haha!

Was the Visa card part of this, or just an innocent employee trying to make a day's wage?

The Visa card was an innocent employee, as you say. He was accompanied by an "elf" dressed in green, who didn't like that we stopped for pictures, so we moved on quickly.

I don't know what, if anything, the Visa card person thought.

ahahah!

I'm sure the Visa card has seen worse. Trust me; a lot of folks who dress up as Visa cards and such are in the creative professions and dress up as Visa cards and such because it's money with rather flexible hours. S/he probably thought it was fabulous or, if not, at least better than rude passers-by.

Thanks. It was a lucky circumstance, I'm glad I followed them. And fun, too!

Last summer there was a similar-looking local demonstration (no Santa, though), with people pretending to be prisoners in Guantanamo. Some very kind children offered to fetch them some food, water, and a lawyerly parent. (The person would then take off the hood and explain about the playacting).

re: waterboard sale at Macy's
Yeah, they'd be the ones to carry those, wouldn't they?
