See, eventually there's going to be a world competition of Sudoku, with every newspaper in the world running the same puzzle every day.

And there's going to be this guy in the suburbs who's really, really good at it. Makes his living at it, in fact (as I recall).

Except he finds out that he's not really solving a Sudoku puzzle at all. He's solving where the Martians are going to launch their rockets.

And the world is made of little slips of paper after that...

And a guy in Seattle, who's got a photographic eye an easy way with words, sits down at his keyboard, and with his rat muse watching, spins out the story. I think you need to write this story, Luke.

Hah! I was referring to a story that I think was by Philip K. Dick, although I don't remember the title.

Ha! The idea does have a certian Dickian air of drug-induced paranoia. The compliment was heartfelt, nonetheless.
