Nice photos. Here's something weird. Just as I clicked on the entry I noticed a bird pecking at the side of the pine tree nearest the office window. Mine was white and black though.

Probably was a woodpecker.

There's also a pileated woodpecker in North Beach Park, but the nest it's digging out is too far away for me to photograph well.

The evaporation shot is lovely--so subtle! I love the smiles on flicker's chests. I'll check to see if I have a good one from my feeder.

And lo, it came to pass! Those are nice shots.

Thanks for the word re "Evaporation." It was fun to take, and the phenomenon only lasted a couple minutes.

I'm going to look into renting a larger lens to try to get a shot of the pileated woodpecker. He's definitely building a nest, he was in the same place both times I've seen him. The hole was much bigger yesterday. Yeah!

Check out Kits Cameras (Ritz) is biting the dust. This is from [profile] eddvick. After they get to the real markdowns, there might be good lenses for a little money. Pawnshops should have a lot of photographic equipment now, too.

< lj user- eric_mayer>: That woodpecker may be a Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens). It is a black and white fellow that's perhaps five or six inches (sometimes larger). They don't like high-traffic areas and seem afraid of crows.

Peerless fits into your garbage in nature shots. However, if you have any other shots of Peerless, lower down and into the mouth of the trash can, I would love to see them. You must have enough shots of trash in nature to do a show.

Evaporation. Beautiful shot.

I like the Swans best.

These made my morning. Thank you.

I saw that a Kits downtown is going out of business. I hadn't thought of lenses, but had thought of camera cards.

And, yes, I'm secretly working my way up to having a show of some kind of North Beach Park.

Thanks for the nudges. Even though I don't acknowledge them all, they set me to thinking.

I am glad they don't annoy you. I think of them as words of encouragement more than nudges. So many people in Seattle put on the Emily Dickinson drag and don't take their show on the road. Me included.

Thank you.

What initially attracted me to North Beach Park was all the abandoned tanks and whatnot, but what's drawing my eye as time goes on is the moss and lichen, and the fallen trees.

That first shot is so beautiful. Like a watercolor alien landscape.
