This is the last batch of pictures.

I was really fascinated by the current of Deception Pass. It can reach several knots, and there were plenty of whirlpools and eddies throughout the channel that we could see. That's one the fascinating things about tides, to me: How different they are. At Edmonds ferry terminal, it came in quickly, each wave reaching a little higher than the previous, the water staying a little further up the shore between waves. At Rosario Beach, the tides were a gentle sigh. Every so often, the water would move and you'd notice the tide was higher. At Deception Pass, the tide was a torrent.

Common Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis)

Julie spotted this, as she does with practically all the wildlife. This one even stuck around long enough for me to get a decent picture.

I certainly understand cranky, as I was the day before. And yeah, no matter how much you like being around your friends, crankiness clouds all that. You know, I was very cranky when I left Anacortes to move back down here. Perhaps you have a case of the Leaving Anacortes Blues (LAB). Only time will cure that. Dog speed.

Now I'm thinking about Washington Park, how cool it is up there, and imagining taking MDog on one of those trails. Yep, I've just revved up my case of LAB.
